A Gas Safe Registered engineer is involved in the inspection of gas appliances in public buildings and accommodation to make sure that they are running safely and efficiently. Gas inspections can also be carried out to supervise installations to make sure that they are being done properly.
Who Needs A Gas Safety Check?
If you are one of the following, you will need a gas safety check:
- Housing associations
- Hotels and B&B’s
- Local Authorities
- Colleges and Boarding Schools
Anywhere that has gas appliances and equipment that are being used by people needs to have a gas safety inspection to check the safety of the property and the people in it.
It is also required by the Gas Safety (Installation & Use) Regulations 1998 to have gas appliances in buildings checked and maintained regularly.
